Anything goes

Send pretty much anything you can think of.

Photos
Videos
Music
Documents
Whole folders
And anything else

If your computer can open it, File Yeet can send it. We don't look at it, classify it, or care.

Take shortcuts, not detours

What File Yeet is actually good at.

Not magic — just a sensible way to move a file from one computer to another.

As fast as your network

Files go straight between devices. No upload step, no server in the middle. Speed depends on the slower of the two connections.

Encrypted before it leaves

Files are scrambled on your device and only unscrambled on the recipient's. We can't read them. Neither can anyone in between.

No size limit

10 GB, 100 GB, a whole drive image. The only limit is what your hardware and connection can handle.

Works across networks

Same room or different continents. If a direct path isn't possible, an encrypted relay forwards the bytes — still unreadable to us.

Minimal setup

Install, add a contact, send. There's no inbox to check, no link to share, no password to remember.

Free for personal use

No trials, no tier upgrades, no “3 of 5 transfers used.” If we ever need to charge, it'll be for things businesses pay for.

For the things worth sharing

Quietly used for the moments that matter.

Not corporate decks. Not the dread-y “please find attached.” The everyday stuff you send to the people you actually like.

  1. 01

    Vacation photos for the family

Send the whole holiday album to your parents in one go — all the originals, no compression, no quality loss.

  2. 02

Wedding videos that won't fit anywhere

That 8 GB ceremony recording? Off it goes to your sister, your photographer, your in-laws — directly.

  3. 03

    Group projects without the chaos

Share assignments, presentations, and notes with classmates without juggling links that expire.

  4. 04

    Between your own devices

Move files from your laptop to your desktop without hunting for a cable or emailing yourself again.

  5. 05

    Quick favours for friends

“Can you send me that recipe video?” Done in seconds — no Drive, no WhatsApp compression.

  6. 06

    Music, podcasts, audiobooks

Share your finds with the people who'll actually listen, with no quality stripped along the way.

How it works

As easy as sending a text.

No links to copy. No tabs to keep open. No “wait, let me upload it again.”

1
01

Add a person

Find your friend or family member by name and add them. Once they accept, you're all set.

2
02

Pick what to send

Drop in a file, a folder, a whole library of photos. Anything on your computer, really.

3
03

Hit send

It goes straight to them. They get a notification, they accept, and the file's on its way.

That’s it. Really.

The difference

Remember when sharing files was painful?

You probably do. Here's what changes.

The old way

Files upload to a stranger's server before reaching your friend

“Sorry, this attachment is too big”

Links that expire after a week (and the awkward “can you re-send?”)

Storage caps that fill up exactly when you need them not to

Uploading… (please don't close this tab)12%

With File Yeet

Files travel straight to the person you're sending to

Send a 50 GB folder if you want — no judgement

No expiring links, no “view 3 of 100” preview limits

Nothing stored anywhere. Sent and gone.

The honest answer

We're not the right tool for everything.

Different tools are good at different things. Here's the plain-English breakdown.

File Yeet
That's us
Use it when

Big files sent directly, at full quality, to a specific person. No waiting for an upload to finish.

Skip it when

Storing files long-term, or sending to someone who won't have the app installed.

Cloud Drives
Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud
Use it when

Shared team folders, version history, or files you need from multiple devices.

Skip it when

Fast one-off sends — you're always uploading the whole file first, then waiting.

Email
Gmail, Outlook, etc.
Use it when

Short documents and small attachments. Everyone already has it.

Skip it when

Anything over ~25 MB. Forget folders — you'd need to zip them first.

Transfer Links
WeTransfer, Smash, etc.
Use it when

One-off sends to someone you can't ask to install anything.

Skip it when

Files over a few GB, anything private, or links you need to stay alive past a week.

Built for people who actually share things

Quietly making lives easier.

From parents to producers, here's what they say after switching.

I sent my mum a folder of 1,200 photos from my brother's wedding. With Drive that would've been a multi-hour upload. With File Yeet she had them in minutes.

Used it for family memories

Honestly the first time in years I've sent a video file to a friend without thinking “oh god, how am I going to fit this through.”

M
Marcus
Sends a lot of stuff

I move work between my laptop and home computer all the time. File Yeet quietly replaced three different apps I used to juggle.

About your stuff

What you send is your business. Not ours.

We built File Yeet because we wanted a way to share files without a stranger getting a copy in the middle.

Locked from the moment it leaves

Every file is scrambled before it goes anywhere. Only the person you sent it to can unscramble it.

Nothing sits on a server

Your files don't get uploaded somewhere first. They go straight from your computer to theirs.

No tracking, no ads, no “data partners”

We don't watch what you send. We don't sell anything about you. There's nothing to sell.

Good questions

Things people ask us.

Short answers, no jargon.

Got something else on your mind? Say hi

One last thing

Take the short way.

Download takes about a minute. If it doesn't click, uninstall it. We're not going to chase you.
